About the Event

This ICS 400 Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff - Complex Incidents course was designed for those who use the Incident Command System to respond to marine fires and oil/hazardous substance spills. This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the IncidentCommand System (ICS). This course expands upon information covered in ICS 100 through ICS 300 courses, which are prerequisites for the ICS 400 course.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Explain how major incidents engender special management challenges.

• Describe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established.

• Describe the circumstances in which Multi-Agency Coordination Systems are established.

PREREQUISITES: Students must complete ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 prior to taking this course.

This course meets the regulatory requirements for "equivalent courses" as defined in the California Code of Regulations, Subchapter 5. Spill Management Team Certification (14 CCR 830.5).
